DMT QSV H264 Video Encoder

This video encoder only works with a dedicated video processor.

Preset

You can select the settings of the QSV preset.

Encoder Params

You can also specify the Profile, Level, and Performance in the corresponding fields. Further down in the Encoder Params area, you can define some additional settings of the video input, like Frame type, Quality and Entropy CC.

NOTE: Of the two Entropy coding, CAVLC is the lower-quality, easier-to-decode option, while CABAC is the higher-quality, harder-to-decode option.

Picture Sequence Control

In the Picture Sequence Control area you can set the Maximum I-Frames, the Maximum B-frames count and Slices count. Depending on your needs, enter the following values:

For I-frame set the Max GOP length to [1] and the Max B-frames count to [0]

For PAL set the Max GOP length to [12] and the Max B-frames count to [2]

For NTSC set the Max GOP length to [15] and the Max B-frames count to [3]

Bitrate Rate Control

Depending on the Mode, you can set different values.

For Constant (CBR) and Variable (VBR) bit rate mode you can set the Target and Maximum BitRate.

Target is related to the average bitrate.

If you enter equal values to both fields, CBR will be patterned.

If the Target is with lower value that the BitRate, VBR will present.

NOTE: Target value should be equal or lower than the BitRate value.

Statistics

Shows the configurations of the input, as well as statistics about Width, Hight, Frame Rate, Average BitRate, Requested BitRate, and the number of encoded frames.
